Zlata Razdolina Composer, Author, Performer

Zlata Razdolina (Rozenfeld), composer, author and performer of her own
music, was born in Leningrad (St. Petersburg) where she gained her high musical
education. She began her career performing her works at the artist's
organization "Lenconcert" in Leningrad. She is a Laureate of many national and
international music competitions. Among her awards is her laureate at the
all-Russian competition celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Victory over
Fascism (1985-Leningrad). The summit of her career in Russia were her Laureate
awards for her musical setting of Anna Akhmatova's poem "Requiem" in the
national competitions in Moscow, 1988 and Leningrad, in 1989.
Zlata Razdolina was chosen to perform her composition "Requiem" during
the Anna Akhmatova centennial in 1989 at the Kremlin, Moscow. The "Requiem",
written for symphony orchestra, choir and soloists, was later performed in
Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, USA and Israel.
Most of her repertoire of more than six hundred romances and songs is
composed of the famous Russian classical poets, A. Akhmatova, N.Gumilyov, O.
Mandelstam, M. Tsvetayeva, A. Blok, I. Severyanin, S.Yesenin and others. These
works, based on love poems, are set to music. This music has been successfully
performed and accepted with great acclaim.
Zlata Razdolina immigrated to Israel in 1990 at the summit of her
career. In 1993, the famous Israeli singer, Dudu (David) Fisher dedicated a TV
program to her music. She later composed the sound-track of the Israeli
television series "Kastner's Trial" directed by Uri Barabash, which received the
Israeli Oscar as the best dramatic series of 1994. Since then, she has composed
song-cycles of the best-known Israeli poets, Rachel, Y. Volakh, N. Yehonatan, L.
Goldberg and others.
She has written music for many theaters in St. Petersburg and recently
in Israel as well as music for symphony orchestras, choirs and chamber
ensembles.
Her setting of the poem "The song of the Murdered Jewish People" by
the Holocaust poet Itzhak Katzenelson, completed in 1997 was originally composed
for symphony orchestra, choir and soloist (cantor) to be performed in
Hebrew.
Its New York Premiere took place at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine on
November 9, 2002. The Brooklyn
Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by maestro Arkady Leytush performed with English
narration by the Hollywood's actor Fritz Weaver and singing and synthesizer
playing by Zlata Razdolina. The
Interfaith committee of Remembrance a non-profit organization that conducts
this Holocaust remembrance concert for the last 14 years produced this
concert.
On February and March 2003 Zlata went on a successful concert tour to
St. Petersburg and Moscow where she performed at the St. Petersburg
International Club located at the Architect's house, at Anna Akhmatova's Museum
located at Fontanny house and in Jewish centers in concerts sponsored by the
Israeli consul in St. Petersburg.
On October 2003 Zlata Razdolina performed at a concert in Birmingham
and was hosted by the famous BBC - Russian program host Mr. Seva Novgorodchev.

On March and April 2006 Zlata performed a successful
concerts tour in the USA and Canada.

Israeli Union of Performing Artists, The International Federation of Actors and
the International Alliance for Women in Music.
